Abdulaziz is currently in charge of Saudi Aramco Downstream Business, this global business covers sales and marketing, refining, chemicals, distributions, pipelines, terminals and power. Abdulaziz has over 32 years’ experience in oil and gas industry, establishing new businesses, developing and guiding new teams, and making measurable contributions towards Saudi Aramco’s strategic and commercial goals. He has led and managed each one of the businesses in the Company’s Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream value chains. As an Executive sponsor, spearheaded the development of mega JV projects in refining and chemicals, entrusted by the company to steer its diversification initiatives by leading 2 new businesses.
Abdulaziz has held a number of managerial and executive positions – last recent positions were CEO, Aramco Gulf Oil Company (AGOC) Holdings; Vice President, Northern Area Oil Operations; Vice President, New Business Development; Vice President, Chemicals; Vice President, Corporate Planning; and Vice President, Power Systems.
Abdulaziz currently serves as chairman on the board of The PetroRabigh Company (PRC) and Motiva and had been serving as board members and shareholder representatives in many of Saudi Aramco Joint Ventures companies’ boards.
Abdulaziz holds an MBA degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management, and a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
