Ziad joined Sadara Chemical Company as CEO in October, 2012 with nearly 35-years of experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
Prior to joining Sadara, Ziad was the CEO of Petro Rabigh, where he served from August 2009 until September 2012. During his tenure, he turned the company’s net income from a loss in 2009, to a consistent net profit from 2010 through 2012.
Before Petro Rabigh, Ziad served as CEO of Saudi Refining in Houston, Texas from August 2007 through July 2009, where he was involved with overseeing the development of the largest refinery in the U.S at Port Arthur, Texas.
Ziad’s career has taken him through a broad range of responsibilities spanning both upstream and downstream businesses. This experience includes an assignment with Exxon Production and Research Company in Houston, Texas in 1984 and a three-year assignment as Vice President of Corporate Planning for Petron Corporation in the Philippines starting in 1998.
Ziad holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, and a M.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University in the US.
